Welcome to Woodland Hills!

-so then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away-look, what is new has come!
2 Corinthians 5:17

Woodland Hills Baptist Church was formed on September 5, 2000 in Water Valley, Mississippi.  Our church is very active in an outreach program which includes weekly cards to the sick in the community, those on the mission field, and those in the armed forces. Our congregation also contributes to Compassion Ministries with both funds and physical labor. Compassion Ministries is an effort of local churches to provide food to those in need.  We continue to grow and prosper under God’s leadership as we strive to become a shining light to the community, the state, the nation, and the world through efforts in outreach and missions.

We no longer buy second-hand cars. We buy “pre-owned” cars. Second-hand has a negative ring to it. Unfortunately, we still often embrace second-hand religion. John 18:33-34 has an account of one whose knowledge of Jesus was only second-hand: “Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, “Art thou the King of the Jews?” Jesus answered him, “Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did other tell it thee of me?” On this Sunday before Easter at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Water Valley, I will be preaching on this passage in a sermon entitled, “The Problem of Second-Hand Religion.” We will look at that passage and see how second-hand religion can become first-hand religion
When Jesus called His disciples, it is recorded that “He ordained twelve, that they should be with him” (Mark 3:14). Sunday evening I will preach on “Discipleship: A Call to Be with Jesus.” I hope that you will spend time with the Lord and with your brothers and sisters in Christ this Sunday!

Our youth will be having a car wash fundraiser on May 4 at Renasant Bank from 8:00 a.m. to noon.  These young people will get your car spic and span for springtime.
